Amputee Program

The Amputee Program addresses the medical and functional issues individuals face following the loss of a limb(s). Wound management as well as controlling swelling are an initial priority. Stump shaping is essential in preparing for fitting of a prosthesis and ambulation training. Strengthening, balance training and adaptive techniques to successfully accomplishing self-care activities and daily routine are a part of the plan of treatment. Support is provided through counseling and support group to assist our patients and their families in adjusting to their disability and the new approaches to maximizing their functional independence.

Our dedicated team of rehabilitation professionals includes a rehabilitation physician, rehab nurses, therapists, social worker, case manager, psychologist, dietitian and prosthetist.
