CaRE-ing for cancer survivors

Ca.R.E., or Cancer Rehab and Exercise Program, was developed by Lancaster General Health and the YMCA to provide a safe and supportive environment for cancer survivors to regain strength, endurance, flexibility and function.

In addition to the exercise training which is provided by a designated YMCA fitness expert, LG Health staff provide education seminars spirituality, coping, survivorship and nutrition.

  • Sessions are held three times a year
  • The 12 week program is FREE to paticipants

Monday & Wednesday

Lampeter-Strasburg YMCA

Monday & Thursday
11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

YMCA at New Holland
Tuesday & Thursday
6:30 - 7:30 p.m.


A physician order is required for a one-time physical therapy evaluation for medical and physical clearance prior to participation in the program.
A Physical Therapist will contact you to arrange this evaluation. (This evaluation is billable to the insurance, please check with your insurance provider for covered therapy services.)
