The Lancaster General Health Experience
What to expect during a photofacial
To stimulate your body’s collagen growth and natural healing process, our aesthetician first uses a handheld device to warm your skin. Then she applies the IPL to the treatment area in up to three brief flashes. The light reaches your outer skin an the layers beneath it.
The heating process breaks down red and brown pigments into smaller particles that your body eliminates through its immune cycles.
Depending on your treatment goals and other services you may undergo, photofacial costs vary. We will discuss the cost of a photofacial during your consultation, and we are available to help establish a photofacial payment plan that works for you.
Photofacial procedure risks
Photofacial treatments are non-invasive and generally very safe. Some people do experience slight discomfort, minor swelling and redness. These side effects normally subside a few hours after treatment. Our skin care specialist will discuss any risks prior to your procedure.
