The Lancaster City & County Medical Society presented Distinguished Service Awards to Drs. Paul Casale and Charles (Tony) Castle at its June 14 annual dinner meeting. The awards honor outstanding service to the community and the medical profession.
Dr. Casale, the former Chief of the Division of Cardiology and Medical Director of Quality at Lancaster General Health, served the Lancaster community for 23 years. He recently became Executive Director of
New York Quality Care, the accountable care organization of New York Presbyterian, Columbia and Weil Cornell Medicine.
Dr. Casale, a member of the local medical society since 1993, served as Board President from 2012 to 2014, contributing much time, energy and leadership to the organization. He also served the community as a member of the board of the Lancaster Heart & Stroke Foundation and a mission committee member for Lancaster Heart & Vascular Institute.
Dr. Castle is on staff in the LG Health department of OB-GYN and at Drs. May-Grant Associates. A member of the local medical society since 1980, he served the board as liaison to the Business Group on Health, including Docs on Call, an annual public service event held in conjunction with WGAL-TV.
Dr. Castle is a board member of the Heritage Center of Lancaster County and a past board member of the Fulton Theatre, as well as a vestry member and senior warden at St. Edward’s Episcopal Church.
