LGHP Thoracic Surgery has opened at the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute. The practice treats a broad array of chest-related conditions, offering complex surgical care and a variety of minimally invasive techniques. Physicians Colleen Gaughan, M.D., and Jennifer Worth, M.D., work as part of a multidisciplinary team and will evaluate and appropriately direct patients to the correct specialist. Conditions treated include lung and esophageal cancers; Barrett’s esophagus; GERD (including the LINX procedure); tumors of the trachea and mediastinum; pleural effusions; esophageal motility disorders and achalasia; and mesothelioma. Procedures offered include minimally invasive lung resection; esophageal resection (open and minimally invasive); surgery for GERD and benign esophageal disorders; surgery for mediastinal tumors and myasthenia gravis; and chest wall resection and reconstruction.
