Christopher E. Shih, M.D., will perform with members of the Philadelphia Orchestra, Sunday, April 30, in Lancaster.

Dr. Shih, an award-winning pianist who practices at Regional GI, will perform chamber music with Philadelphia Orchestra concertmaster and violinist David Kim, along with other orchestra section leaders. The performance will include Franz Schubert’s legendary “Trout Quintet.”

Dr. Rogers wins award for excellence in trauma care
Frederick B. Rogers, M.D., LG Health Division Chief, Trauma, has won a state award for his commitment to excellence in trauma care.
Dr. Rogers will receive the Dr. John M. Templeton Jr. Physician Award April 11, at the American Trauma Society, Pennsylvania Division’s conference in Hershey.
The award is given to a physician who has shown commitment to excellence in trauma care through clinical expertise, philanthropy, leadership, trauma-related research, and trauma prevention and education.

Kristina B. Newport, M.D., of Palliative Medicine Consultants, was featured in the Sunday “In the Spotlight” Q&A column for her work as part of a team leading efforts to build the new Amos Herr Dream Park in Landisville.

Leon S. Kraybill, M.D., of LG Health Physicians Geriatrics, was featured in an LNP story about the “walk of honor,” a simple ceremony held for deceased residents at Luther Acres. Dr. Kraybill, who is Medical Director at the Manheim Township retirement community, created a quilt used in the ceremonies.
