More than 250 people came out on National Trails Day on Saturday, June 3, to explore nutrition and healthy lifestyles with Lighten Up Lancaster and Lancaster General Health.

At the Columbia Crossing River Trails Center, LG Health staff handed out oranges and apple slices, and provided information about healthy family snacks and meals from the Eat Together PA campaign. Other activities included taste testing, a nutrition talk, guided walks and kayaking, and the opportunity to speak with healthcare professionals.

In addition, Dr. Chris Wenger from The Heart Group of Lancaster General Health and Wendy Kennel, Community Health RN at LG Health, hosted a “Walk With A Doc” and a nutrition presentation.

These events marked the third annual National Trails Day that Lighten Up Lancaster has sponsored along with several other local organizations.
