On Friday, Dec. 22,Dr. Chris Putney, Managing Physician at LG Health Physicians Family Medicine Strasburg, continued his annual tradition of bringing holiday cheer to young patients at Lancaster General Hospital. For the past 13 years, Dr. Putney has dressed as a reindeer or elf and visited the hospital with friends and family.

Dr. Chris Putney (far right) continued his annual holiday tradition of visiting children at LGH. This year Dr. Putney was joined by family and friends, including his practice manager, Mike Beeman (far left).

This year, the practice spent time at Lancaster General Hospital’s Emergency Department and Pediatric Unit, bringing presents and joy to kids who were sick and their siblings, who had to spend the holidays away from home. They also leave some gifts for children who are admitted in the days following Christmas.

The gifts are purchased by the group, as well as patients and staff, and wrapped in Strasburg before being delivered to the hospital.
