This summer LG Health supported the Library System of Lancaster County’s Summer Fitness Quest to encourage a healthy lifestyle of youth and family members. The program specifically supported free opportunities for children and adults to visit and enjoy the natural beauty of Lancaster County parks, trails and nature preserves.
LG Health helped fund and print Summer Quest Reading Program Booklets to help reach the goal of keeping Lancaster’s youth active by discovering Lancaster trails and learning about nature. LG Health offered yoga poses and other healthy activities throughout the book. Over 180 children completed Summer Fitness Quest Booklets that were available at the 17 public Libraries of Lancaster County, the Library System’s Bookmobile and BeREADy Rover early literacy van.
“Thanks to the support from LG Health, this health literacy initiative allows us to address the need for young children to establish healthy habits,” said Renee Christiansen, Youth Services Manager, Library System of Lancaster County. “The program reminds parents and adult caregivers to guide their child in those good habit forming acts.”
