The Lancaster General Health Experience
What to expect during facial rejuvenation
Laser rejuvenation treatments are typically scheduled every four to six weeks. Your provider will discuss your customized treatment plan during your complimentary consultation.
To achieve the results you desire, our cosmetic experts use a combination of light and laser technologies to achieve your desired outcome:
- Nano laser peel
- Micro laser peel
- Contour TRL
- Pro-fractional
- Halo
- BBL
During the resurfacing procedure, your provider removes top layers of skin (ablation) and tightens lower layers (depending on laser treatment) that rapidly evaporates water in the skin. This helps minimize wrinkles and improve skin texture and tone, all with minimal downtime compared to other resurfacing treatments. The dual-wave length Halo laser treatment is a favorite in our practice, as it is quick, easy, and virtually painless.
All treatments are customized to individual patient concerns and the provider is able to target specific problem areas, if needed.
To prepare for the procedure, your provider will recommend special skin care products to use prior to and after treatment. If you have a history of cold sores, we recommend you obtain anti-viral medication from your primary care provider prior to the procedure and use after treatment. If you suffer from a history of moderate/severe acne, we recommend you obtain an antibiotic from your PCP prior to and after treatment.
While our laser treatments require patient preparation, the downtime is typically less than one week. You may experience swelling, redness, flaking and/or tightness during the recovery process. Vigorous activities should be avoided until the skin has completely healed and re-epithelialized. Direct sun exposure should be avoided for two months after treatment. SPF 30 should be used daily after treatment. Complimentary consultation is required.
Facial rejuvenation cost
Facial rejuvenation costs vary depending on your treatment goals and other services you may also undergo. During your consultation, we will discuss the cost of your facial rejuvenation procedure.
Laser skin care risks
Laser treatments are safe, effective and comfortable. They require no injections, surgery, and the rejuvenation treatment has no downtime.
Laser skin treatment risk include:
- Burns from the laser’s heat
- Scars
- Skin pigmentation changes
- Herpes breakout, if you’re susceptible to infection
You can avoid most risks and complications by carefully following your surgeon’s instructions.
Resurfacing treatment recovery is more involved than recovery from rejuvenation treatment. Following your procedure, your surgeon will cover your treatment area with a dressing. You will need to arrange for a ride home. You will likely experience swelling, skin redness, and discomfort for 7 to 10 days. Your surgeon will recommend a special skin care regimen to help the healing process.
