Transgender Services

Our experienced and compassionate surgeons offer two types of outpatient procedures for transgender and non-conforming individuals desiring the physical appearance and functional abilities of the gender they know themselves to be. Gender confirmation procedures include:

• Male transitioning to female (MTF): breast augmentation, which involves breast implant placements to change chest contours.
• Female transitioning to male (FTM): mastectomy to remove the breast glands, adjust nipple position and size, and deal with skin excess. 

We recommend that all individuals considering gender confirmation surgery first talk with their primary care physician to determine the most appropriate steps. A letter from a primary care physician or counselor is usually required for insurance coverage of either surgery.
