The Lancaster General Health Experience
What to expect during laser hair reduction
During your laser hair reduction treatment, our skilled aesthetician shaves if necessary, although we prefer you have stubble in the area being treated and then targets the area to be addressed with the light energy. The light energy’s intense pulse light targets the melanin (color) in the hair follicle which converts to heat and damages the follicle, resulting in hair reduction. Some patients say it feels like a rubber band snapping on the skin with minimal heat.
After the treatment, our aesthetician may apply a calming, cooling gel. Your skin may be a little swollen for up to a week. Most people require a touch-up treatment every year to capture any small hairs that may appear after the series of recommended treatments. Any hair that does re-grow is finer and lighter than before.
Laser hair reduction cost
Depending on your treatment goals and other services you may undergo, the cost of laser hair reduction varies. We will discuss the cost of laser hair reduction during your consultation.
Laser hair reduction risks
While laser hair reduction is very safe, potential risks include temporary blisters and skin pigmentation changes. Our aesthetician will review the procedure with you and make recommendations for your specific needs.
