Matthew’s Story: A Freak Accident Was A Blessing In Disguise

The McCullough family knows there is no such thing as a coincidence. While treating 11-year-old Matthew for some bumps and bruises from a golf cart accident, the emergency department and trauma teams at Lancaster General Health discovered he had an enlarged kidney—a medical condition that required immediate attention.

LG Health and pediatric partner The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia worked together to get Matthew back in the game. Today, Matthew is leading an active, healthy life, grateful for the care he received.
