Hike & Bike Trail Mix

Hit the trail with this energy—and flavor-packed healthy snack mix that will keep you going strong during your hike or bike trek. Add some of your favorite dried fruits, nuts, and grains for variety. Your kids will love it too. Just watch out for ingredients that could cause choking hazards in small children.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup multigrain or regular Cheerios cereal
  • 1 cup kettle corn or air-popped popcorn (We used popcorn, Indiana brand cinnamon sugar kettle corn.)
  • 1 cup roasted, unsalted almonds
  • ½ cup dried cherries
  • ½ cup raisins

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl and measure out ¾ cup amounts into snack-size zip-top bags.
  2. Many of the ingredients in the recipe are choking hazards for small children. Choose age-appropriate foods for your custom mix and don’t serve to small children while in the car.
