Solar lentigines

Solar lentigines

Solar lentigines ("liver spots," "sun spots," or "age spots") range in color from tan to dark brown. They are spots that appear on sun-exposed skin, such as the backs of the hands, the forearms, and the face.

Solar lentigines are not a type of skin cancer, do not progress to become skin cancer, and do not require any treatment.

There are treatments to remove or reduce solar lentigines, if desired.
