A new primary care practice of female physicians dedicated to the special health care needs of women from age 18 and older opened on June 1 in the Lancaster General Health Women’s Specialty Center, 694 Good Drive, Suite 23, adjacent to Women & Babies Hospital.
Drs. Hyasmine Charles and Nancy Rist of Lancaster General Health Physicians Internal Medicine distinguish themselves in their approach to women’s care by focusing on the whole person and emphasizing prevention through wellness, medical management, stress reduction and attention to mind, body and spirit.
By recognizing that symptoms and diseases present differently in women, Drs. Charles and Rist will provide comprehensive medical care by managing acute illness and chronic conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension and osteoporosis; as well as giving special attention to women’s issues such as menopause, breast and skin health, depression and anxiety, stress management, and fitness and healthy eating. Drs. Charles and Rist will work in collaboration with the other female physicians at the Women’s Specialty Center who provide care in Women’s Heart Health, Women’s Digestive Health and Women’s Behavioral Health Counseling.
Dr. Hyasmine has practiced in the Lancaster area for 14 years, and Dr. Rist comes to LG Health from Crozer-Keystone Health System. Dr. Charles earned her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University. She served her internship and residency at the University of Rochester, and her fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh.
