Lancaster General Hospital was designated as a Magnet organization in 2002, 2006 and 2011 by the ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®.  This designation recognizes excellence in nursing services and is the highest international recognition of its kind.

Magnet designation symbolizes nursing excellence. ANCC uses a multifaceted evaluation system to assess for Magnet excellence. The evaluation process includes demographic information and in-depth documentation which reflects how applicants meet all program requirements at the organizational level.

Three surveyors, selected by ANCC, will be visiting LGH June 6-9. The survey will consist of meetings with nursing and non-nursing staff, Medical Staff, and LGH leadership.
