Lancaster County Joining Forces will host a free community forum at 7:30 am Friday, Oct. 4, at the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences in Lancaster.

The event is open to businesses, faith-based and community organizations, schools, and concerned citizens and will focus on the coordination of efforts in Lancaster County to address the opioid crisis.

Speakers include:

  • Rep. Lloyd Smucker will recognize the work that Joining Forces has done throughout the County to reduce overdose deaths.
  • County Commissioner Josh Parsons will review local strategies, accomplishments and goals.
  • Brenda Buescher, LG Health Health Promotion Specialist, will review current opioid-related data.
  • Crystal Natan, executive director of Lancaster County Children and Youth Services, will outline the impact of the opioid crisis on children and families.
