A motor vehicle accident. A serious fall. A wound. When you suffer a life-threatening injury, you need the expert care only a trauma center can provide. Lancaster County residents and visitors have access to Lancaster General Hospital’s Level 1 Trauma Center, the only accredited Level I Trauma Center in the county.

Care often begins before a patient arrives at the hospital. During transport, EMS providers communicate with the Emergency Department to alert the team of a patient’s condition and vital signs. The emergency medicine physician will activate a trauma response team led by our in-house trauma surgeon.

From the ED and surgery, through recovery, discharge and follow-up visits at LG Health Physicians Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, a dedicated trauma team cares for each patient, ensuring the highest quality treatment and a smooth transition through every stage of care.

General Surgery

Our trauma surgeons are board-certified in both trauma and general surgery. Besides providing care for patients who experience traumatic injuries, we are also on call for emergency surgeries and perform a wide range of elective general surgical procedures. Patients can schedule an appointment at our practice location at the Lancaster General Health Suburban Pavilion.

We offer many of the same surgical procedures as other general surgeons. However, we have the additional training to deal with emergencies and the critically ill and injured. Our dedicated team is available for round-the-clock care.
