Get to know Dr. Tracey Smith, Family Medicine Lititz

We sat down with Tracey Smith, DO, who joined the staff at LG Health Physicians Family Medicine Lititz and Family Medicine Lititz Kissel Hill during the COVID-19 pandemic, to learn a little bit about her and what it’s been like to care for patients during unprecedented times.

When did you start working at Family Medicine Lititz?

I joined the practice in May 2021.

What were the biggest challenges of practicing medicine during the pandemic?

The biggest challenges were transitioning and adjusting to telemedicine, keeping up with the quickly evolving research and recommendations for COVID-19 testing and treatment, and seeing patients that I care about suffering.

What are your areas of special expertise or interest?

I have special interest and training in addiction medicine. I am certified to treat patients with suboxone for opiate use disorder and really enjoy helping patients with addiction. I also enjoy all aspects of women’s health, including PAPs, routine gyn exams, and helping women find the best contraception options for them.

My osteopathic training also allows me to provide my patients with osteopathic manipulation—manual therapy used to treat pain and various medical conditions.

Where are you from originally?

I grew up in Pittsburgh.

What do you like most about Lititz?

I love the tight knit community that Lititz offers.

What do you enjoying doing in your spare time?

I have a 15-month-old son who keeps me busy! I am a certified yoga instructor and enjoy running, hiking, yoga, swimming…really any outdoor activity, especially if it involves the beach! I love dogs and have a rescue Shepard mix.
