Strawberry Mint Mocktai

Who doesn’t enjoy a delicious and refreshing beverage on a hot summer day? Add in the health benefits and it’s a win-win for our Strawberry Mint Mocktail.

Boosting Your Immune System…and More

The strawberries in our mocktail provide antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunity benefits. Both strawberries and limes are great sources of vitamin C, a water-soluble vitamin important for immunity. Choose fresh, locally-grown berries when possible. Vitamin C amounts are highest in freshly picked fruits.

The mint in this beverage provides way more than refreshing taste. Mint helps with digestion, can boost your mood, and supports cognitive function. Mint also contains properties to help protect your body against oxidative stress (low antioxidant levels), inflammation, and certain diseases.

Cheers!

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 sprig of mint, about 10 leaves
  • Juice of a half lime
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon hot water
  • Ice
  • 1 can of (12 oz.) lemon lime sparkling water or club soda. I like to use Waterloo’s Lemon Lime! Optional garnish: mint leaves, sliced strawberries

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Combine a heaping ½ cup of sliced strawberries with mint leaves in a cocktail shaker. Squeeze in the juice of a half lime and muddle together.
  2. Make a quick simple syrup by combining honey and water. Whisk together until incorporated and add to shaker.
  3. Strain mixture into your glass of choice. Use a spoon to get as much juice through the strainer.
  4. Add a few ice cubes and top glass with sparkling water or club soda.
  5. Stir and enjoy! Garnish as you wish.

Makes one serving.
