Women & Babies Hospital is a 95-bed specialty hospital and adjoining outpatient center focused on the health-care needs of women at every stage of life and their newborn babies. We provide comprehensive maternity services, women's surgical care, specialty services, and a wide variety of educational programs.
Maternity Services
Nearly 4,000 babies are born each year at Women & Babies Hospital—more than any other hospital in Lancaster County. You’ll find compassionate doctors, midwives, nurses and support staff with the expertise to handle every type of birth experience—from routine deliveries to high-risk pregnancies and multiple births.
Our facility includes:
- A Labor and Delivery unit dedicated to your personalized birth plan
- A Couplet Care unit where mothers and babies are cared for together in one private room
- A 29-bed advanced Level IIIB Neonatal Intensive Care unit (NICU) staffed 24/7 by teams from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
Women's Surgical Services
We offer inpatient and outpatient surgery to address a variety of gynecologic conditions. When appropriate, we perform surgeries using minimally invasive techniques, including da Vinci® robotic technology, to reduce pain and shorten recovery times. Some of the conditions we treat include:
- Pelvic pain
- Excessive bleeding
- Ovarian cysts and uterine fibroids
- Endometriosis
- Bladder and pelvic floor disorders
- Cervical and uterine cancer
Giving to Women & Babies Hospital
Beyond providing exceptional care, there are other ways we are able to help those we serve. With the support of our community, we implement programs and offer support in ways that directly impact and improve the quality of life for women and children. Community funding makes it possible for us to care for patients during a time of need, offer state-of-the-art equipment, and educate the next generation of compassionate, highly-trained medical professionals. Learn about giving opportunities.
In addition, we invite you, your family and friends to celebrate the arrival of your baby by adding his or her name to our “A Star Is Born” celebration wall. When we receive your tax deductible contribution, we will etch the honored baby’s name and birth date on a gold star and hang it in a special location at Women & Babies Hospital. Order a star.
