Our social workers offer counseling on logistical issues related to work, finances, education, legal concerns, and more. When appropriate, they connect patients and families to local and national resources with vast experience helping people after a diagnosis of cancer. These include:

  • OncoLink – Comprehensive information about cancer, including tools and educational materials on treatment, psychosocial support, and survivorship care plans.
  • Triage Cancer – Extensive free resources for individuals diagnosed with cancer, caregivers, and health care professionals, on the legal and practical issues that may arise after a diagnosis. From health and disability insurance to psychosocial issues, estate planning, finances, and more.
  • Cancer and Careers – Empowers and educates people with cancer to thrive in their workplace, by providing expert advice, interactive tools, and educational events
  • Cancer Legal Resource Center – Provides information through its national telephone assistance line/online assistance program, as well as outreach programs and community activities to educate and support cancer patients, their families, health care professionals, and advocates on matters like maintaining employment through treatment, accessing health care and government benefits, taking medical leave, and estate planning.
  • MidPenn Legal Services – Non-profit, Lancaster law firm providing high quality, free civil legal services to low-income residents and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in 18 counties in Central Pennsylvania.
