We offer care for older adults facing dementia and memory loss disorders, working closely with patients and family members to determine if the cause is related to depression, injury, Alzheimer’s disease, or another disorder. We then develop an individualized plan to help patients maintain or improve function.
No single test can diagnose dementia. Initially, we use a combination of medical history, physical and neurological exams, as well as mental status testing. We may also use diagnostic imaging, including NeuroQ PET technology, to look at your brain. We also offer access to other Lancaster General Health Alzheimer’s and memory care services.
Depending on the underlying cause, medication may be helpful. We can work with you and your family caregiver on techniques and strategies to help assure safe and independent living as long as possible.
