Compassion and Respect for All
At Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, delivering on our mission to advance the health and well-being of the communities we serve starts with a foundation of inclusion, compassion and respect for our patients and each other. Our health system strives to be an inclusive environment where patients, visitors and employees are welcomed and have access to equitable treatment regardless of age, gender, disability, race, skin tone, ancestry, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, medical condition, marital status, or veteran status.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Advisory Council
To help strengthen our commitment, LG Health formed our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Advisory Council comprised of team members representing a variety of job titles from across the health system. Council members help inform critical strategic decision making, monitor progress against goals and objectives, and serve as visible and vocal proponents of diversity, equity and inclusion efforts across the organization.
The council supports the deployment of strategies focused on:
- People Who Serve.
Understand inequities and bias in the organization and assess current state of diversity, equity and inclusion.
- People We Serve.
Provide recommendations and guidance for the health system to address and achieve health equity for our patients.
- Communities We Serve.
Provide guidance to help the health system champion health equity throughout our service community.
